Can I interest you in a huge bowl of Dots, Tootsie Rolls and suckers?
Maybe it’s the fact that I live in a bit of a rural community and many of my neighbors are even older than I am, but I expected at least a couple of Trick or Treaters last night. At least one!
About six months ago, a cute young couple with two kids moved in across the street. They have two smaller children and they even decorated their house with orange, Halloweeen lights. Nope, not even them.
This is my first year of zero Trick or Treaters. Until last night, I could always count on a couple knocks and a handful of frightening costumes. Two or three years ago, three High School cheerleaders showed up in uniform to collect canned goods for a food bank. Not this year.
Was this year a fluke due to H1N1 (or whatever other else the media is scaring us with this year) or a trend? And in the mean time, does anyone want a huge bowl of candy?
