I really have no idea why this scavenger hunt is so exciting to me. Riding to these sometimes obscure, sometimes famous locations just to take a picture for bragging rights doesn’t seem to be very rational. But it’s fun.

Today’s objective was a manufacturer of motorcycle seats in Northern California, Rick Mayer Cycles. Pretty easy and pretty quick. While there, Rick offered a tour of his facility and a bottle of cool water. Not too shabby.

While important for points, the picture of Rick Mayer just isn’t blog-worthy. Normally, Shasta Lake would be, but this late in the season it’s low, very low. So I passed on it. Mt. Shasta, on the other hand, is quite majestic. I think she needs a little snow on her peak, but given the time of year (and heat), I guess I’ll let it slide for now.

Next month, though, I want to see some snow!
